Hello - I’m originally from Barnard Castle, a now rather well-known part of the country...
I graduated in 2019 with a First Class Honours Degree from UCLan (University of Central Lancashire), after studying Graphic Design for 4 years.
Preston taught me how to nurture my ideas and the real process of design; which is a step up from 6 year old me who liked to design houses from cardboard boxes and create posters advertising make-believe shoes!
I also love the ‘crafting part’ of design, too, and love how the execution of projects can really bring them to life. (I am not afraid to admit that I’m a real nerd when it comes to choosing paper samples…)
In my third year at university I undertook a placement year, where I travelled to both Amsterdam and London. This allowed me to gain further experience working in the design industry. This experience proved to be extremely beneficial in final year and also gave me the drive to want to pursue the industry further.
And finally, not to toot my own horn, but I’m also an award-winning designer (Adidas, D&AD New Blood 2019). The same project was also shortlisted that year in the Creative Conscience Awards.
